About Bridget

Bridget Mullahy

Labor-endorsed Candidate for South Melbourne ward

I am the daughter of two migrants who moved to St Kilda in the late 70s looking for a better life. I was the first person in my family born in Australia and to get a tertiary education.

My background is medical science and I worked for large commercial healthcare businesses and consultancies where I’ve won multiple Industry awards. I have managed large budgets ($1 million plus) and launched innovations based on science that has improved the lives of millions of patients. People with complex health needs where their lives had been impacted by heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, depression, osteoporosis and chronic fatigue to name a few.

I worked overseas in very different cultures for 15 years. I travelled to over 50 countries – mostly solo – and always knew that Port Phillip was where I would call home when I returned because… it’s just so spectacular!

Since returning in 2019 I work as a consultant and lecture at RMIT University in Health Communication. I’m a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

I also volunteer with the Elder’s Rights Advocacy to provide social support at CaSPA Care Emerald Hill Residence.
